Barry became the Associate Pastor at First Baptist West in 2001. His responsibilities include Education and Administration. He has served in the Education Ministry for 23 years. Barry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from CameronUniversity in 1981 and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984.

Barry is married to Tammy and they have three children, John, Brian, and Grace. John and Brian both are attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas, and Grace is finishing high school and taking CLEP tests at Cameron University. John will be serving as Music Minister at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving, Texas as he works on his Doctoral Degree at Southwestern Seminary. Brian serves as Music and Media Minister at Normandale Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Brian and his wife Kristen added the first granddaughter to the Cornish family in October of 2008 and John and his wife Rashel added the second granddaughter to the family in February of 2009. Tammy is preparing to work for Faith Hospice in Lawton. She is looking forward to being back in the Nursing field and helping others with their medical needs. Barry loves to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing with friends. His goal in life is to help the church reach the lost and disciple the believers through the many ministries of the local church.

Doug is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, where he studied both vocal and instrumental music. He has degrees in music education and in choral conducting. Both Doug and his wife Linda were clarinet majors at UNC, and both of them came to know the Lord through the witness of fellow students and professors there.

Doug has directed church choirs, instrumental ensembles and orchestras for over twenty years. He is a private voice teacher, a member of the VoiceCare Network as well as a member of the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma.

Linda is an accomplished musician and a clarinet teacher. She also enjoys sewing and gardening. She has been a mentor to many young women, helping them to apply God’s truths to their lives. She has been a very active volunteer with children’s church, VBS and Christian arts camps for children and youth. She loves to study and memorize scripture.

 Doug and Linda have two grown sons, Will and Matt, a daughter-in-law Emily and a grandson Coen.

Mike became Youth Minister at First Baptist West in May of 2001. Mike has served as a Youth Minister at various churches before coming to FBW. He is also currently employed as a teacher and coach with Lawton Public Schools. He has an undergraduate degree from Cameron University and a Masters of Education with a youth concentration from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

Mike's goals are to reach students for Christ and give them opportunties to grow in Christ through Bible study and service opportunities. Other goals include giving the adult youth leaders and parents of First Baptist West a place to grow and serve as they reach out to the youth in Lawton.

Mike is married to Jeni and they have two children, Braeden and Lauren. His hobbies include playing tennis with his high school players and going to OU football games during the fall.

Linda has been a secretary at First Baptist West since January 2001. Her husband Trevor is retired military and currently works for ManTech Defense Systems at Fort Sill. She has two sons, Cory and Adam, who both live in Norman, OK.  Adam graduated from the University of Oklahoma. She and her family have been members of First Baptist West since June 1991.

Shelly Herrera - Secretary

Shelly has been  serving as one of the church secretaries since November 2003. She previously was the secretary for Red River Behavioral Health as well as for the American Red Cross in Germany. She has been a member of FBW since 1978.

Shelly is married to Robert and they have two children, Jesse and Victoria.  Robert is a police officer at Ft Sill & serves in the Army National Guard. Shelly is very involved in  the Youth Department Wednesday Night activities. She is also involved in women's events at the church as well as her children's sports & school functions.

Glenn joined the FBW staff in September of 2009. He is also employed by the City of Lawton in the Parks and Recreation Department as the Sports Coordinator for all the elementary sports programs. He has been with the City for ten years. He is a native of the great state of Arkansas.

Glenn's wife, Gina, is a 2nd grade teacher at Lawton Christian School. She is also a fitness instructor at Cameron University. Glenn and Gina love spending time together and with their two children, Aleigh and Addison, who both attend LCS.

Glenn and Gina enjoy teaching a couples' class on Sunday morning. Glenn is very active in the Men's Ministry at FBW. He loves watching Arkansas and OU football. He also enjoys coaching his son's football and basketball teams. He is a great support to both his family and his church family!

Sandy has been the organist at First Baptist West for twenty-eight years. She has been a member of FBW since 1980.

Sandy and her husband Chris, are actively involved with the young married department. Sandy is a fifth grade teacher at Crosby Park Elementary. Chris and Sandy have two children, Kristian and Morgan.
